Senior Director, Product Marketing, Appcelerator

Simon Berman is passionate about bringing new products to market, and developing and growing businesses to achieve market dominance. Simon brings over 16 years of enterprise product marketing/management experience from application, security and network testing to emergency mass notification and mobile application lifecycle management.

He currently serves as senior director of product marketing at Appcelerator, the mobile development platform of choice for thousands of enterprises as they become mobile-first organizations. Prior to that, he was vice president of products at Mu Dynamics, (acquired by Spirent Communications), where he re-positioned the company around next-generation app-awareness and delivered the first 'consumerized' network testing solution with an integrated cloud-based app store. He previously spent two years with emergency notification vendor AtHoc as vice president of product marketing. Prior to AtHoc, he spent more than 12 years at Mercury Interactive (acquired by Hewlett-Packard), as senior director of products, where he helped build the company's load testing business to more than 70% market share, with annual revenues exceeding $250M. Simon also spent three years as a software engineer at Radcom developing networking test equipment.

A frequent blogger, Simon shares insight into industry trends, customer challenges and solutions use-cases. He holds an MS in computer science from University College London and a B.Eng in aeronautical engineering from Imperial College, London.

Chris Gill, CEO & Executive Director, SVForum

As CEO and Executive Director, Chris is responsible for managing the SVForum strategic direction and all major initiatives. Most recently, Chris was President & CEO of SVASE, the Silicon Valley Academy of Startup Entrepreneurs, where he extended the value and reach of the organization through the introduction of programs such as Launch: Silicon Valley, First Impressions workshops and the Startup Advantage 12 week course. Prior to SVASE Chris held senior management positions in the US and Europe at ZF Micro Devices, Avnet, The Access Group and Mostek. Chris is also a Board member of the Mission College Center for Innovation and Technology and a member of Sand Hill Angels. Chris received a BSc in Computer Science from The University of Manchester,

Dr. Stephen McElfresh, Principal & Founder, HR Futures

Dr. Steve McElfresh founded HR Futures after having served as the President and CEO of the Saratoga Institute, a leading international organization doing research and consulting on productivity measurement and improvement. Before joining Saratoga, Dr. McElfresh was the chief HR officer for SRI International, Exponent, and Friden Alcatel. He has taught at Boston College and the University of Massachusetts, and has also served on the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of a variety of Bay Area companies and non-profits. Dr. McElfresh, who has published many articles on HR and productivity research and findings, conducts seminars both locally and nationally on new directions for the American workforce, R&D and white-collar productivity and the challenges of managing in highly technical organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in organizational psychology from Boston College and a J.D. from the Santa Clara University.

Lucie M. Newcomb, President & CEO, NewComm Global Group

Lucie Newcomb has been opening markets and opportunities for IT & Services companies, including market leaders like Cisco, IBM and Johnson & Johnson, and innovative former start-ups, such as Marvell Semiconductor and Quote.com. She has double the industry "hit" rate for closing business and 100% project/ program management track record: always on time and budget.

A head of Marketing, Communications and Sales departments since 1983, Lucie has presented at more than a dozen industry conferences worldwide and is the author of a dozen executive training courses, including "How to Buy Effective Market Research" and "Defining Your Profit Zone" featuring her BestPricing (SM) system and based on the work of Adrian Slywotzky. Hers was one of only 35 consultancies approved by the South African government for its productivity improvement program (me). She has also held a number of leadership roles, including co-Founder, with the US Consul General, of the Cape-American Business Council in Cape Town, South Africa. She has also been a monthly business magazine columnist on global marketing and sales issues.

In addition to serving on the Advisory Board of Aerio, an innovative open source software company, she has also been on the Boards of professional and community groups, such as American Marketing Association Chapters, since 1991. She spearheaded the AMA Business Book Collection at the University of St. Petersburg, Russia project. She is currently also President of the Global LightWorks Foundation, and former Chair of the GraceNet Mentoring Partnership Program, a respected global association for women in technology. She has been active recently in the International Leadership Association as the Convener for the Leader as Reader virtual book club and the ILA's Learning Community on Philosophy, Religion and Worldviews, and TEDX Bay Area Women's Organizing Committee. She is a Mentor in the TechWomen IT Mentorship program of the U.S. State Department, and for the US Market Access Center accelerator for foreign-based startups.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Lucie also has a Master's degree Leadership Studies from St. Mary's College. She is also an accredited coach in the Hall-Tonna Values Inventory, a methodology for breakthrough Leadership Development. A former resident of both the United Kingdom and South Africa, she is fluent in French. Lucie speaks on the Voice of the Global Customer (podcast), Global Citizenship and the Dept of Commerce and City of San Jose on an International Trade Bulletin for Silicon Valley (2012).

Brian Reaves, GVP & Global Lead, Products & Service Delivery, Design and Frontline Applications, SAP

Brian Reaves is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in all phases of software development, consulting, and general management. He is currently GVP & Global Lead, Products & Service Delivery, Design and Frontline Applications at SAP where he formerly served as COO & GVP, Design and Frontline Applications and COO & GVP, Business Analytics Technologies Group. Prior to that, he was VP of Service Delivery at Coghead. In addition to serving as the Co-Founder and President and CEO of Beyond Software, a Silicon Valley company that developed the industry's first mainframe-based web server, Mr. Reaves has held executive management positions at Xerox Corporation, Must Software International, Centegy Corporation, and Covigna Incorporated. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Math and Computer Science at University of California at Los Angeles.
